Your smart home,
finally talking to itself.

Most smart home stuff is great until something stops working — and then you've got a router on a stool, a kid yelling that Roblox crashed, and you Googling "how do I get a Govee API key" for the third time this year. Guardian fixes that.

What Guardian actually does

Three things that turn your network from a junk drawer of devices into a system.

1

Auto-discovery

Guardian scans your network and labels every device for you — apple-tv-living-room, sonos-kitchen, roku-bedroom. Not just IP addresses. Built on mDNS + MAC OUI + your router's DHCP table.

2

API Hunt

For brands that gate their API behind a "request access" wall (Govee, Wyze, Tuya, Ecobee, Ring, Nest, LIFX, Nanoleaf, Roborock), Guardian walks you through the dance and stores the keys for Home Assistant. The thing you've been postponing for six months — done in five minutes.

3

Watchdog Recovery

Pings every registered device every 30 seconds. After 3 missed pings, power-cycles via a relay add-on and pulses a reset solenoid. Your kids notice the lights flicker. By the time they ask, it's already back online.

Questions you'd reasonably ask

I already have Home Assistant. Why do I need this?

Guardian sits next to Home Assistant, not against it. It feeds HA the API keys you've been postponing because the brand's developer flow is annoying. Guardian doesn't replace HA, it finishes it.

Is this a subscription? Hidden fees?

One-time $49 buys a 12-month license. After 12 months your install keeps working — you just stop getting brand-catalog updates and software patches unless you renew (renewal price will be ~$29).

What if Guardian breaks? Can you remote-fix it?

If you set up Tailscale (we walk you through it), yes — we can remote in via your tailnet and fix any issue without you shipping anything back. No port forwarding, no public IP. End-to-end encrypted.

Phase 1 is software-only — what about hardware?

You bring your own Raspberry Pi 4 or Beelink mini-PC. Phase 2 launches a hardware bundle (~$149) where we ship a pre-imaged box. If you'd rather wait for Phase 2, that's fine — but you'll pay $100+ more.

What brands does the API Hunt support today?

Govee, Ring, Tuya, LIFX, Nanoleaf, Ecobee, Nest, Wyze, Roborock, iRobot. New brands added monthly — your guardian update command pulls them in.

What if I want my data out / want to start over?

Run guardian backup any time — gives you a tarball of everything Guardian remembers about your home. guardian factory-reset wipes it all and starts fresh. Your data, your control.

Privacy?

Everything stays on your hardware. No cloud account. No data sent to us. If you opt into Tailscale for remote access, that's between you and Tailscale — Guardian doesn't see it. Pi-hole + Unbound also block your ISP from logging your DNS queries.
